Bundlr is like a dream come true for every PR professional, media assistant, journalist or other kind of content curator. Bundlr allows you to gather all the content you want (whether video, tweets, photos) on one platform. Create your perfect personal bundle by selecting what content you want to include and then embed or share it at will. For now, the platform allows users to login using a Twitter, Facebook or Google account and in the future the company plans to offer other login options as well.

Daily Tekk talked to Sérgio Santos, one of the founders of this Portuguese startup. Check out the interview below to get acquainted Bundlr.

When and how did you decide to create Bundlr?

The first idea to build the website came up in June 2010, when Sergio Santos, Filipe Batista and I went to a conference. We tried to sort out a way to really share all the available content about the event, including pictures, videos and media reports published online, like all in one page. However, we found out it was impossible to do that in a simple way. That was when the concept of creating Bundlr first showed up; it was due to a true need. There wasn’t any kind of online tool available that permitted selecting and organizing all of the content from a certain topic.

Why the name Bundlr?

Bundlr derives from bundle, which for our tool means a set of content dedicated to the same topic.

What kind of financing have you gathered so far?

We received some financing by a venture capital company called SeedCapital.pt back in September 2010 that allowed us to develop the first version of Bundlr.

How many registered users does Bundlr have?

At the time we have 11.500 registered users.

What about copyright of the content that the users share and gather on your website?

The user is solely responsible for the content that he shares, a scenario that is perfectly specified in our Terms. The user has the responsibility to better understand if he is sharing copyrighted material. Still, for most cases, the content shared is basically classified within the fair use category.

What are Bundlr’s future plans?

Our goal is to work on Bundlr and make it into a sustainable and profitable business. That also includes delivering the service on other platforms like smartphones and tablets.
