It’s true that Apple (and tons of tech companies) own lots of patents that they don’t necessarily implement or use… they are just in the holster so-to-speak, but this one really bugs me… I have to believe that Steve would never let it reach the light of day under his watch (if he were here right now). If I’m reading his Wikipedia entry correctly, he wasn’t even on medical leave at that time. So from a certain point of view, this is exactly the kind of thing Steve would have let happen.
