LG OLED TVs are Packed with Cool Technology (Like Perfect Black Pixels…)


If I had to buy a brand new TV right now, the first company I’d research would be LG. Why? I’m impressed by the technology inside the company’s OLED TVs. Perfect Black. Intense colors. Curved displays. 4K UHD (Ultra-High Definition) displays. What’s not to like?

Let’s start with the Perfect Black technology. We’re talking about self-lit pixels that can individually turn on or off. At the risk of sounding cheesy, do you realize what that means? That means that the blacks on an LG OLED TV couldn’t possibly get any blacker. It’s an impossibility. Whereas other TV manufacturers merely try to dim dark pixels, LG OLED TVs turn those pixels all the way off/out.

And that is what leads to more intense colors. Think about it: the reason you can’t see the stars at night in most cities is light pollution. There’s so much light coming from signs and headlights and buildings that all but the very brightest stars in the sky get completely washed out. But imagine being able to turn off all that light pollution: the view would be absolutely stunning. It would take your breath away. Well it’s the same idea with the LG OLED TVs: by turning out the pixels that should be black, the colors in the surrounding pixels are allowed to shine even brighter. There is truly no other ...
