So I recently unboxed the brand new Xbox One S and in the process created one of the coolest videos I think we’ve had on the DailyTekk YouTube channel so far. Why? Because I wanted to do something different: I wanted to give the viewer the sense they they (you) were the one doing the unboxing rather than me. Not sure how well that part worked, but I think you’ll really enjoy the video.
If you didn’t know, the Xbox One S is that it’s nearly half the size of the original Xbox One which is very cool — which is all the more amazing considering the power supply is now built into the console itself.
It also supports 4K, Ultra HD Blu-Rays and HDR content (though we won’t actually be able to experience games in high dynamic range until games like Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 until they come out in October). It’s worth noting that games aren’t going to play in native 4K resolution here; instead they’re going to be upscaled to 4K.
To enjoy HDR content on this Xbox you’re going to need a TV that supports HDR10 — like the Samsung 8 Series TV which appears in this video (and which I recently reviewed). Stay tuned because this TV has a 10-bit display and can take full ...
