100 Beautiful But Controversial Nature Photo Tweets

Hey, I’m Chris. I wrote this article and I’m also the founder and Editor of DailyTekk. Lets connect on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Check back daily!

The photos you’re about to see below are unbelievably awesome. They’re also incredibly controversial.

I’m sure you’ve seen them before on Twitter and Facebook—incredible photos of amazing places from around the planet. Photos that seem to have been captured at just the right time, or to have colors so vidid you’d swear they weren’t real (and sometimes they’re not) or have subjects that you can barely wrap your mind around because they seem so foreign (but in a neat sort of way). These photos are generally of places you’ll never go to, but would want to.

The photos get posted from accounts like @EarthPix, @Earth_Pics and @EarthImages among many, many others.

And therein lies the controversy. Each photo was taken by a photographer that went out of their way to get the perfect, amazing, jaw-dropping, stunning, insanely-great, drool-inducing shot. But, the Twitter accounts pumping out a nature photo of the day, or nature “porn,” as some call it, generally don’t give credit to the originator of the photo. And even if they do, it’s highly likely they don’t have permission to use the photos in the first place.

One company making money off of other people’s copyrighted material is called All Day. The company recently raised over $2 Million to fund their operations. Essentially, All Day uses it’s network of Twitter accounts, including @EarthPix (which has over 1.5 million Twitter followers at the time of this writing), to drive traffic to it’s main website where it can show ads—and make money (all while the original photographer gets nothing but… exposure?). Depending on who you are, you may find it brilliant—or abhorrent.

I’ve gathered 100 stunning photos from accounts like @EarthPix below (broken down into 10 categories)… what are your thoughts on this topic? Let me know in the comments below.

Wow! Just… Wow!
