Action movies are awesome. And if you own a GoPro camera, you obviously want to star in them. But while you love shredding or riding or jumping or climbing, maybe you don’t love editing. Or maybe you do but just don’t have time to make the insanely awesome video you envisioned when you bought that GoPro. Or maybe you are a professional film maker but just want to share some fun footage with friends or family without actually doing any editing…
There are lots of apps out there that can make videos for you automatically, but I thought I’d share 3 more recent ones that are geared more specifically toward action shots (i.e. stuff shot on a GoPro or similar action cam). So if you’re looking for the best way to quickly and easily share GoPro videos that look really, really good (and good editing makes all the difference in the world), you’ll definitely want to check these apps out. Shred bills itself as one-click video editing. It’s a Mac app that lets you drag and drop action footage along with a favorite song and hit one button — the shred button — to get a final cut that uses only good footage and syncs up to the music perfectly: all on autopilot.
Antix is a mobile app that not only creates videos for you from you GoPro footage but actually lets you control your GoPro over WiFi and includes an action sports community as well. With it you’ll be able to shoot, have your highlights automatically edited into a final cut and share your adventures with a community of like-minded people.
10app is a little different from the other apps here in that it automatically helps you find and share the highlights from your videos. In other words, instead of cutting together a bunch of great footage it helps you identify that one moment where you really nailed it and sends it to your friends. It also lets you control your cameras, adjust video speed (fast or slow-mo), works with the Apple Watch and also works with DJI Phantom drones.
