7 Speaker Showdown: What’s the Best Wireless Speaker?

Hey, I’m Chris. I wrote this article and I’m also the founder and Editor of DailyTekk. Lets connect on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Check back daily!

In this video we rank 7 different speakers including the Bose SoundTouch 20, the Revo SuperConnect, the Libratone Zipp, Amazon Echo, House of Marley Get Together, Grace Digital Mondo and UE Megaboom in several categories including SOUND, LOOKS, QUALITY and INTERFACE. We start with a brief introduction to each speaker and end with some recommendations.

Here’s the video transcript:

If you’re checking out this video you’re probably wondering which wireless speaker is the best. There’s a lot to choose from out there and I’ve picked 7 great speakers to show you and ranked them in several different categories (based on personal hands on experience) to help you make the right choice.

Bose SoundTouch 20

The Bose SoundTouch 20 has a deep, rich sound. I really appreciate it’s screen, the fact that it works with Spotify Connect, comes with a remote and an app and gets software updates periodically. The sound is so good.

Revo SuperConnect

The Revo SuperConnect is a gorgeous, retro-styled wood and metal radio with a premium sound. Like the Bose it also works with Spotify Connect. I love the built-in Internet radio, the fact that it comes with a remote (even if it is really chunky), the side volume knob and the large screen.

Libratone Zipp

The Libratone Zipp pumps out some nice sound, as do many of the speakers here on this list, but it’s real standout feature is it’s looks. You can swap out covers for different colors using the zipper along the side. There’s no remote here and just a few buttons up on top but it does come with a strap for portability.

UE Megaboom

Speaking of portability the UE Megaboom is as portable and as tough as it gets. It’s rugged, waterproof, has a fun design and is pretty light. But you should hear the sound coming out of this thing: it’s surprisingly loud with impressive base given it’s size.

House of Marley Get Together

The House of Marley Get Together is longer than the other speakers featured here and has a really nice looking bamboo and fabric look. I’d call the sound pretty decent but in my mind you buy this speaker for it’s looks and portability (thanks to it’s rechargeable battery).

Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo is an ok speaker that packs in a ton of smart features and intuitive controls. It’s voice controlled, lets you buy things from Amazon, can answer basic questions, will keep track of your to-do lists and lots more. I love the cylindrical look and I’m really looking forward to future feature updates.

Grace Digital Mondo

And finally we have the Grace Digital Mondo, another speaker with lots of built-in Internet radio stations. Along with the Amazon Echo it’s on the cheaper end of speakers featured here but it does have a nice color display and plenty of buttons for presets.

In terms of the best all-around speaker I’ve got to go with the Bose. It’s sound quality and projection can’t be beat. My favorite overall speaker though is the Amazon Echo. I’m pretty much addicted to everything that it can do and it looks really cool as well. For portability you’ve got to go with the UE Megaboom; it’s rugged, reliable and sounds good. If you want something that looks classy and sounds incredible go with the Revo. If you want that wood look at a cheaper price point, go with the Get Together. And if you’re looking for a great speaker for your kids I’d recommend the Grace Digital.
