The 10 best new news apps for iPhone

Hey, I’m Chris. I wrote this article and I’m also the founder and Editor of DailyTekk. Lets connect on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Check back daily!

2010 called, it wants it’s news app back. If you love to keep up with the latest news as well as your favorite interests but keep using the same few news apps year-in-and-year-out, it’s time to see what else is out there. Don’t get me wrong: I love my Flipboard, Digg Reader, Feedly, Pocket, Instapaper and Circa apps as much as the next guy, but I’ve found that there isn’t one perfect news app (that would be both awesome and boring all at the same time). Instead of being pigeonholed, I’ve found that having a personal news ecosystem is the best way to keep myself informed since various apps have different features, strengths and weaknesses. There are many more than 10 “newish” news apps out there, but these are my favorite.

  1. Unread – A simple RSS reader that’s luxuriously minimalistic (yes that makes sense).
  2. Prismatic – Beautiful interface sporting one feed for all your interests.
  3. Watchup – The fastest way to watch the news.
  4. Yahoo News Digest – Provides a twice-a-day definitive news summary.
  5. Now This News – News network built for the mobile-social age.
  6. NPR One – Public radio made personal (Pandora for public radio).
  7. Newsbeat Radio – The best of print and online streaming news, personalized.
  8. Newsy – Multi-source video news.
  9. Nuzzel – News from your friends.
  10. Inside – Curates the best journalism in realtime.
