If you need to upgrade your work or gaming setup (or even if you just want to), pay attention: LG is giving away several Ultralight laptops AND UltraWide monitors. All you have to do is get a bit creative. Read more below or click here to enter.
In order to win this crazy awesome gear, you’ll need to build your dream setup… out of cardboard. That’s right! Get out your glue, scissors, tape and all those old boxes laying around and get to building. You definitely don’t have to have a bunch of technical knowledge (forget being able to name specific ports or connectors). It’s good enough to just illustrate your imagination. Want a bunch of huge monitors? Make it happen. Want walls that are actually screens? Show ’em. This is your chance to dream big (and I’m guessing, though I’m not a judge, that the bigger you dream, the better your chances). This isn’t a competition where you want to go small. You know what they say: go big or go home!
Personally I think I’d have a lot of fun entering this contest; win or lose. I’m a creative person by nature so inventing things and thinking up possibilities sounds like a blast. True, I haven’t touched those grade-school era crafty tools for a loooong time, but getting my hands dirty and showing off something cool is enough to make me want to. Think about it: you could build something crazy that, regardless of if it wins, could win the Internet. You could submit it to Reddit (if it was impressive and polished enough) and watch it take off.
I think if I was going to do this I’d not only build the frame out of cardboard, but I’d get some of that colored construction paper to illustrate the “screens.” It wouldn’t be hard to prototype a screen out of cardboard and then simulate some windows. You could use it to illustrate what you’d want to get done with your dream setup.
And if you’re on the fence about entering, keep this in mind: there will be 20 winners of the LG UltraWide monitor. And the top 3 entries will also receive the Ultrathin laptop. That’s actually quite a few winners. But don’t think of the odds as competing against everyone else (like your entry would be one of thousands). Just compete against yourself: think up the craziest thing you can and times it by 10. If it sounds like too much work: do it. Because that’s the same point everyone else will stop too. If you want to win, you have to be willing to do what everyone else won’t. Simple, right?! 🙂
Now go out there and get your cardboard on. Let’s get a winner from DailyTekk’s audience!
