The iPad Pro is a giant and you’ll be able to pick one up starting at $799 for a 32GB version.
It’s got a 12.9” Retina display that packs in 5.6 million pixels — that’s more pixels than a 15” MacBook Pro with Retina Display. With this iPad you’re getting 78% more viewing area over the iPad Air!
It’s got an A9X chip that delivers desktop class performance. It’s 1.8x faster than the previous iPad chip and a whopping 22x faster than the original iPad. It’s also faster than 80% of portable PCs shipped within the last 12 months.
All this extra power allows you to do things like edit 3 stream sof 4K video (which you probably shot on the new iPhone 6s) simultaneously. That’s really cool.
The new iPad Pro also has 4 speakers which automatically balance sound based on how you’re holding the device.
So watching movies on this screen is going to be pretty incredible.
With the new iPad Pro you’re going to get up to 10 hours of battery life so you’ll be able to work all day long.
But even with that great battery life the new iPad Pro is still 6.9mm thin and only weighs 1.57 lbs.
Now Apple also announced a couple of really cool accessories to go along with this new iPad today.
The first is a physical keyboard called the Smart Keyboard that connects with the iPad using a new connection called the Smart Connector which is capable of transferring both power and data. The Smart Keyboard is going to cost you $149.
The second new accessory is called the Apple Pencil which is a super-accurate stylus. There are several cool things about this stylus including the fact that it can be used simultaneously with a finger and the fact that it works within apps like Notes and Mail.
Now thanks to the 8MP iSight camera I’m a little worried people are going to be taking pictures with this new iPad. Don’t be that guy.
So the iPad Pro will be available in November and will come in 3 finishes: silver, gold and space gray.
