Video: Mikol Marble iPhone 6 / 6 Plus Case Review (Best Case Ever)

Hey, I’m Chris. I wrote this article and I’m also the founder and Editor of DailyTekk. Lets connect on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Check back daily!

So the main feature of this case it what it’s made out of: marble. Luxury materials means luxury case. But at $99 is it worth it?

The back of this case is where you’ll find the marble. It’s a thin layer that’s surrounded on the sides by some plastic edging. Although I wasn’t really sure what to expect at first, the marble look’s definitely grown on me the more I use the case.

So lets talk about the fact that this thing is really light. I actually expected it to be quite a bit heavier but it really adds almost no bulk. That’s partly because it’s also really thin.

As a protective accessory for your phone I’d rate the drop protection as pretty minimal. There’s not much padding to protect your phone from a fall. In fact, on their website they say in all caps: “The case MAY NOT SURVIVE AN IMPACT FROM DROPPING YOUR DEVICE.” But that’s actually how I prefer my iPhone cases — as thin and light as possible. It’s definitely keep the back and sides protected from scratches and scrapes. The top and bottom edges are also a little less protected just because the case is so minimal. Take other minimalist iPhone cases you’ve looked and and add some minimalism and this is the case you’ll get.

This case fits so snug on your iPhone that it’s almost tough to pry off. Your iPhone doesn’t wear this case as much as the case puts your iPhone in a vice grip.

And speaking of grip, this case makes my iPhone far easier to hold than when it’s naked which is a definite bonus. That’s thanks to the plastic siding which is grippy enough without getting in the way.

One minor gripe I have with this case is that the volume buttons can be a bit hard to press meaning you’ve got press them more from the bottom than from the side.

So these cases are definitely pricey, they’re definitely unique, they’ve definitely got a minimal design and offer minimal protection.

As it stands, I will actually call this my favorite iPhone case. For me, the marble is interesting but the case’s minimalism steals the show. I’ve been looking for the most minimal case I could find in terms of a case that was barely there and out of several I’ve tested this is the best one. As a person who tests a lot of iPhone cases I’m always happily surprised when I reach in my pocket thinking there’s no case on my phone and bring it out to see that it’s wearing the Mikol.

So would I recommend it? Yes. Buy this case if you are looking for something different that will protect your phone from scratches and minor drops.
