iPhone 8 Rumors: Rumor has it that there won’t be an iPhone 7s — instead the company will be jumping directly to the iPhone 8 or possibly the iPhone 10 given that next year will be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and Apple might be planning something special. Jon Gruber of Daring Fireball — a blog which I love, btw — has stated that he heard insider talk that the next iPhone will be all screen on the front with no bezels or borders. It’s also supposed to have an invisible home button, an AMOLED display and wireless charging. And here’s hoping the Apple announcement manages to give us a One More Thing… Source
Samsung Suspends Galaxy Note 7 Production: Samsung has suspended production of the “hot” Galaxy Note 7 — at least temporarily. Things got really bad for Samsung when replacement Galaxy Notes began catching fire as well leading US carriers to suspend Note 7 sales entirely — including replacements. They already got suspended — did they really need to get thrown out of school too? Source
U.K. Government Bans Apple Watch: The U.K. government is worried that the Apple Watch could be hacked and has banned officials from wearing the Watch to cabinet meetings because, as one source reports, “The Russians are trying to hack everything.” The U.K. isn’t the only country that is banning smartwatches, though: The Verge points out that Australians have banned the Apple Watch from cabinet meetings too.
