Hey, I’m Chris. I wrote this article and I’m also the founder and Editor of DailyTekk. Lets connect on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Check back daily!

Your world — and even your experience as a human being — is about to be expanded in a BIG way thanks to virtual reality (VR). Soon, thanks to headsets like those listed here, borders and physical limitations will mean much less to you. Check out some deals on VR headsets here. In some ways, the impossible will become possible. You’ll be able to play games, watch movies and visit destinations in fully-immersive 3D. In fact, instead of “watching” or “playing” you’ll instead “experience.” Imagine walking the surface of Mars or shrinking down to the size of a molecule and watching science unfold right before you. Imagine having a front-row seat to any sports game or concert in the world. Imagine watching 360 degree blockbuster movies with your friends — even if you’re in different states or even countries. If you’re interested in creating 360 degree, immersive content why not check out our recent list of the 7 best 360 degree cameras and rigs for shooting insanely awesome VR.

If you didn’t know, DailyTekk creates an awesome new tech list every weekday. You can check them all out right here.

Oculus Rift

The Oculus Rift is the most advanced consumer VR experience on the planet. We’re talking about state-of-the-art displays and optics, a high refresh rate and low-persistence display. Thanks to accessories like the Oculus Touch, this is immersion defined. Facebook bought Oculus… think about what that implies about the future.

Google Cardboard

Contrasting the price of and hardware of top-of-the-line VR headsets is Google Cardboard, a simple cardboard case that holds your smartphone in front of your eyes to let anyone on any budget experience virtual reality.

HTC Vive

The HTC Vive is capable of delivering photorealistic VR experiences that fill your field of vision in every direction, jitter-free. When combined with Steam VR base stations, you’ll actually be able to move around in a 15ft x 15ft VR environment. There will be plenty of games available on the Vive thanks to a partnership with Steam VR and HBO, Lionsgate and Google are among HTC’s additional VR content partners.

Project Morpheus

Sony’s not waiting on the sidelines when it comes to VR. Instead it’s bringing Project Morpheus to the Playstation experience. Project Morpheus features a full 1080p HD display with immersive 360 degree sound. The accelerometer and gyroscope will be able to detect head movements with almost no latency.

Gear VR

Samsung has introduced the Gear VR to the world as a way for buyers of Samsung smartphones to experience VR. It’s a partnership with Oculus that makes use of a touchpad for navigating 360 degree experiences and will be available for just $99.
