The iPad—on it’s own—is a stellar device. But not for getting any serious typing done. If you’re a business person, or even a person who handles a ton of daily email or wiring of some sort, you definitely need a great keyboard. And while you’re at it you might as well get a keyboard/case combo so you don’t scratch or ruin that expensive tablet of yours. Here I’ve chosen what I believe the 5 best keyboard cases for the iPad Air 2 (Apple’s current flagship iPad model—until the iPad Pro arrives later this year).
The Logitech Duo-To-Go for iPad Air 2 all-in-one case and keyboard for iPad Air 2 is versatile by nature. The wireless keyboard is detachable which makes typing places other than simply on a desk, table or counter top possible. The case doubles as a stand (since the keyboard wouldn’t be too useable without that) and the entire setup is scratch and water resistant making it nice and durable.
The Clamcase Pro for iPad Air 2 will make your iPad Air 2 look more like a MacBook than an iPad—and that’s not a bad thing. People rave about this case and keyboard combination for a reason; it’s comfortable to type on (even on/in your lap), sturdy and looks really, really nice. It’s the aluminum shell that makes this awesome case stand apart; yet it’s still quite light. Reverse the case to use as a tablet stand without the keyboard.
Belkin QODE Ultimate Pro
The Belkin QODE Ultimate Pro keyboard case for iPad Air 2 offers you three things: the full coverage protection of a case, the convenient detachability of a cover and the keyboard experience of a laptop. What sets this case apart from a design like the Clamcase above is that you can detach the iPad (while still protected in a case) from the keyboard. Additionally, you can decide whether you’d like to view your iPad in portrait or landscape mode.
Zagg Slim Book
The Zagg Slim Book keyboard case for iPad Air 2 will impress you with it’s insane battery life; Zagg claims that you can go up to 2 years in-between charges! If you’re looking for that clamshell look with a detachable case—this is your best best. There are four modes of use: case, keyboard, book and video.
Kensington KeyFolio Thin X2 Plus
With so many iPad Air 2 keyboards and cases to choose from, sometimes making a decision just comes down to what you think looks the best. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to like the Kensington KeyFolio Thin X2 Plus (man, that’s one long name) for it’s sleek black style with cool backlit keys. You’ll also find features like a KeySense Power Channel which can automatically turn the keyboard on/off and a QuickFold design that quickly hides the keyboard for a more smoother viewing experience.
