    How to play

    • Five rounds, each with a clue about Apple’s people, products, places or history, a mix of past and present. Every clue has a handle you can reason from, even if you know nothing about Apple. Tap the map: your tap is your answer.
    • The answer lights up as the real outline of a city, state or country, whichever the clue asks for. Land inside it for the full 1,000 points. Outside it, points fall with the distance to its edge: about 833 at 100 km, 665 at 500 km, 561 at 1,000 km and 401 at 2,500 km, so a long miss still earns something.
    • Later rounds are harder and worth more: rounds 1 and 2 count once, round 3 twice, rounds 4 and 5 three times. A perfect game is 10,000.
    • Hints are optional. Each takes 15% off that round’s score. The result words depend only on where you tapped: Spot on is inside the outline, Very close within 100 km of it, Close within 500 km, Right region within 1,500 km, and Far off beyond that.
    • A thin timer runs under the clue. Take up to 20 seconds for full points; after that points fade by 1% a second, down to 70%. It never cuts you off, and it never changes the result words.
    • Place names stay hidden until you answer, except country names. Zoom in to see state and province lines.
    • Keyboard: Tab to the map, then arrow keys move, plus and minus zoom, and P drops a pin at the center mark. The Pin at center button does the same.
    • Sounds are made in your browser, stay quiet until you interact, and have a mute button. Every result is also shown in words and numbers.
    • There are no accounts. Your browser remembers only your sound setting, your best score and which rounds you have seen, so you meet new ones first.
